ITECA (Institute of Technology and Animation) is an organization involved in rural development in Haiti and is one of the oldest NGOs in the country. It offers peasant farmers training programs in technical, organizational, environmental and commercial skills. Their mission is to strengthen the role of peasant organizations as actors of social change. Since the earthquake of January 12, 2010, they have set up a post-quake Integrated Program of Intervention to help strengthen the capacity of small-scale farmers.
Development and Peace is currently working with ITECA to build 450 houses in Petit Boucan, a remote area that was at the epicenter of the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010.
